◘ 1998 - 2005
◘ Exec-PC, Voyager, Time Warner Road Runner, Soniq Designs

I started my career in computers early; at age 18 I was hired into technical support for Wisconsin's largest Internet service provider (ISP), Exec-PC. Within 8 months, my leadership skills and dedication to the support center lead to my promotion as supervisor. During this time, I managed 21 team members, as a trainer, mentor, and supervisor. In this role, I maintained a company standard of 90% answered within 30 seconds, and developed an internal knowledge-base to support the team outside of existing tools. Almost 3 years later, Time Warner Cable saw a need for management of their emerging 'Road Runner' high-speed Internet. I moved into this role seamlessly, bringing my leadership and training experience. Time Warner's model was highly organized, and this only supported my efforts to support and lift team members in their career journey. Simultaneously, I opened and operated a one-person web hosting and design LLC, still operating today. I maintain 17 active websites, and host over 50 domains.

◘ 2005 - 2008
◘ Norlight Telecommunications

Gaining more interest into the higher level of internet technology, I expanded my education and footprint by moving into the field of telecom. For two years, I explored and learned about Long Distance circuits, Multi-link and DS-0/1/3 circuits. Much of this time was rewarding, and gave me a deeper understanding of the ever evolving internet and the backbone that supported it. In this role, I worked with all areas of communication teams, from line workers to executives.

◘ 2006 - 2009
◘ LaCage Nightclub

A career is nothing without a little fun, right? Norlight had me working 4-10 hour evenings, overnight. This made me nocturnal for a while, and I used that opportunity to do a bit more learning. For 3 years, I worked nights/weekends at Milwaukee's largest dance venue. They had DMX controllers and lighting kits; the DJ's each used their own equipment. It was here that I worked as a lighting tech, eventually upgrading their system to a MIDI/USB enabled system, and worked with the team to build out custom 'scenes' that would control and redirect lighting and sound to specific areas of the dance floor. This technology was just emerging, and it was a great experience to learn, build, and work with. Towards the end of 2009, I was DJing a full 4 hour set with coordinated lighting and a full automated 'set' that was programmed in advance to support the energy and vibe of the music.

◘ 2008 - 2012
◘ Marshall and Swift/Boeckh

At age 28, I was burned out on night shift, and the night life. My need to get a 'day' job moved my career from night-time DJ and DS1 technician, into SQL and IIS Application programming. As it happened, a very good friend of mine offered me to apply at his employ, suggesting that my natural curiosity and desire to 'tinker' would be satisfied. He was right. Just 3 months into the position, I was writing SQL scripts, diagnosing HTML and .NET glitches. My official position in the company was to support the end, already created product - but the dev team and engineers encouraged submissions; it was this that gave me the ability to write my own SQL scripts, and eventually build my own mini-applications. Using a combination of perl, python, and sometimes even DOS batch, I had built and automated many of my daily operations. The team I was on were highly collaborative, and this allowed me to grow and learn even more.

◘ 2012 - 2016
◘ EMS Software

A recent marriage and change of lifestyle brought on a new career path. Using the SQL and App Dev knowledge I'd absorbed, I began to search out a company that needed me; I was also very interested in moving from a technical support role, back into some level of leadership. EMS was the answer. After being interviewed directly by the owner of the company himself, I knew it was a company and a team that I would learn from. I took the job as a Tier 3 SQL Support Admin, and in no time, I was diving into the product as a subject matter expert for our 4000+ customers. Evolution in this company was quick for me. Within a year, I was working directly with Professional Services as a Senior Solutions Engineer. My ability to think around and outside of the box didn't go unnoticed, and soon I was working in Development.

◘ 2017 - Present
◘ Accruent / EMS Software

EMS was highly recognized in the industry. After an acquisition, there were new opportunities in the organization. I was approached by the VP of the Sales team. He insisted that I was the unicorn they needed to support a new 'Solutions Consulting' department. I was promoted to this position, and with a single sales member as a peer, we worked to make this department shine. With nothing but a guiding principal of, 'thought leadership', I worked to develop process, procedures, and Salesforce methodology. This evolved, and soon we had a cadence by which we needed leadership and more team members. This was observed from the C-level, and I was promoted into the Director role. I was then tasked to build, train, and support a team. As of Feb 2021, our team operates with 6 employees; we have a 84% success rate of closed-won opportunities (when engaged). We maintain as subject matter experts in both the area of our product line, but also in the industry in which we compete. It's an every evolving market, and I continue to remain excited about when the next challenge may bring.
